2008 Press Release

NavigationArts Selected to Redesign Charlotte.com

MCLEAN, VIRGINIA, September 24, 2008 – NavigationArts, a leading user-experience design consultancy, has been retained by The Charlotte Observer to design a new Charlotte.com website that will be a highly interactive news and community oriented site, representing everything Charlotte.

Charlotte.com previously served as the online home of The Charlotte Observer as an integrated newspaper site and regional portal. Following the recent, successful launch of CharlotteObserver.com, The Charlotte Observer plans to launch a new site at Charlotte.com as a separate website. Currently, CharlotteObserver.com can also be accessed from either web address.

The new CharlotteObserver.com is the Carolina’s most visited news and information site. It represents an extension of the newspaper, incorporating interactive and user generated content that allows visitors to dive more deeply into a story, as well as keep up with breaking news throughout the day.

Given Charlotte.com’s focus on community, it will incorporate social networking applications, a wide variety of news feeds, and the ability to customize and personalize content based on user preferences, to provide a dynamic and engaging user experience. NavigationArts will provide consulting services to create the user experience, from design through implementation.
