2008 Press Release
NavigationArts Wins WebAwards
MCLEAN, VIRGINIA, September 16, 2008 – The Web Marketing Association today awarded two 2008 WebAwards to NavigationArts, a leading user experience design consultancy, in recognition of the firm’s work for the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and kajeet. The Wolf Trap website won a Standard of Excellence WebAward in the arts category and kajeet won an Outstanding Website WebAward in the telecommunications category. One of the Internet’s premiere honors, the WebAwards is an international competition designed to judge corporate websites against an industry standard, and against peer sites within their industry.
"I extend my congratulations to Wolf Trap and kajeet," said Leo Mullen, NavigationArts' CEO. "The recognition from the Web Marketing Association pays tribute to the hard work of the project teams who created these innovative websites."
The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts presents and produces a full-range of performance and education programs in the greater Washington, D.C. area, as well as nationally and internationally. NavigationArts applied best practices in information architecture, visual design, and content management to create a new website with a vastly improved user experience. The new website builds a sense of community among Wolf Trap's visitors while promoting the array of available performances and classes – and works to drive ticket sales, merchandise sales, class registrations, memberships, and donations. According to one judge, Wolf Trap has a "well designed site with engaging content and intuitive navigation."
kajeet is a Bethesda based start-up offering a pay-as-you-go cell phone service for tweens (ages 8-12). NavigationArts conducted a comprehensive site design for kajeet that promoted the phone company’s unique product concept and value proposition while providing online account management for two distinct audiences – children and their parents. NavigationArts provided information architecture, user interface design, content management services, and development services.
