2006 Press Release
MailingOnline on USPS.com to receive user experience upgrade by NavigationArts
MCLEAN, VIRGINIA, July 12, 2006 — NavigationArts has been selected by PosteDigital to redesign the online experience for the company’s flagship product, MailingOnline. PosteDigital’s MailingOnline application is an important feature of the US Postal Service web site. It enables customers to print and mail cards and flyers via the Web – submitting artwork and mailing lists, selecting colors and paper stock entirely online. Since this is a relatively complex process, making it as easy as possible is vital to success for both the user and for the business sponsors.
Recognizing the importance of the application, and spurred by customer feedback calling for improved usability, PosteDigital has tapped NavigationArts to provide advanced user interface design services to assess the usability of the MailingOnline program, including workflow and interface, identify areas of inoperability and weakness in usability, and implement appropriate remedial measures in a new user experience.
"MailingOnline is an innovative feature on the Postal Service web site, using the Web to automate activities that one might think would be difficult to do online," said NavigationArts CEO Leo Mullen. "We are helping PosteDigital develop a far more user-friendly interface to help customers accomplish some complex tasks."
NavigationArts is working in collaboration with PosteDigital’s product management team and its third party developers to create prototypes and user interface designs. Work on the user experience is expected to be completed in Q2 2006.
