2006 Press Release

NavigationArts to Redesign Hanley Wood's Ebuild.com

MCLEAN, VIRGINIA, January 25, 2006 — NavigationArts, a leading user experience design consultancy, today announced that trade publisher Hanley Wood has selected the firm to redesign Ebuild.com, the world’s most comprehensive online resource for builders. Along with articles and reviews from Hanley Wood’s leading trade publications, including Builder magazine, Ebuild.com provides building professionals with the largest, most comprehensive online catalog of building materials, fixtures and supplies.

“The volume and complexity of the data contained on the site poses a challenge to the user,” said Leo Mullen, Chief Executive Officer of NavigationArts. “Our job is to simplify the key interactions and help the site realize its potential as an e-commerce channel. We are focusing first on strategy – new features and content to support the site’s long-term vision – and then on usability and design.”

NavigationArts is providing strategy, user research, information architecture, and transaction design services to optimize the site’s features, content, and navigation. The company is also designing an improved user interface to create a more engaging online visual presentation that supports usability and builds the online brand.

NavigationArts is working with Ebuild.com’s publishing staff and Hanley Wood’s internal IT department, which manages the site’s back end. Work will continue through the summer to a re-launch in late 2006.
